My husband and I got to welcome this sweetie into the world on February 4th. She's three days old in these photos!
I've had the joy and honor of getting to know this couple over the last eleven years. They are kind to each other and to everyone they meet. They welcome everyone into their lives as if they're family. My husband (at the time Kyle was my boyfriend), Shannon and I took a course at Cuesta College in San Luis Obispo eleven years ago. A handful of years later, Shannon married Laurie and Kyle married me. We've all gotten to grow as married couples and have dinner nights together where we all catch up. Shannon and Laurie were going to come over to meet our son when he was just a few days old but we had to reschedule due to the little man having jaundice trouble. They love children and are going to be great parents. Fortunately, they have tons of family support and lots of friends who are ready and willing to babysit or even just hold one of the twins while one parent takes a break. I can't express how excited we are to soon be welcoming Shannon and Laurie's twins into the world! Seems like just yesterday we were in the dating stage and going to college. Time sure does fly. I am super happy to say I will get to be a part of the twins life soon after they are born by taking their cute photos. Stay tuned for a double newborn shoot!

We took our family portrait two days ago and now I'm all set to start the painting. So excited to finally have an entryway portrait for our home. I'm finally doing it! I am painting our family portrait. The tricky part is picking which image I want to use. Going back through the ones of all of us together, I get picky. Ahh the light isn't right, ooh we're much skinnier now that we've lost the baby weight, blah the placement isn't what I want. Since a lot of our family portraits are candids or shot in the midst of commotion, it's time to take a fresh one for this portrait. Best bet, auto timer. With our busy schedules and my husband working nights, it's the best bet right now. Hey, if we don't like any then we'll just re-shoot once we're all on the same schedule again. I am thrilled to start painting it!! |
